Once again, BLUES IN THE BOTTOM is going on at The Canal Club in RVA’s Shockoe Bottom!  This time around it is a fundraiser for Natchel’ Blues Network’s (NBN) 2012 International Blues Challenge (IBC) representatives Rooster Foot from Virginia Beach, VA and The Bush League from Richmond, VA!  The 28th Annual IBC sponsored by The Blues Foundation takes place January 31 through February 4th, 2012 in Memphis, TN and these two bands are primed and ready for this amazing opportunity and experience!  Tonight’s bill is supported by NBN’s 2011 IBC rep’s The Mike Lucci Band and River City Blues Society members Pig Foot Riot!  Come help support these amazing blues bands as they prepare to share there talents at the largest gathering of blues musicians from around the world!  There will be a silent auction and raffle tickets for a few prizes and surprises!  Tickets are $10 at the door!  See you there!!!

Last night we visited Revolve in historic Richmond, VA and took possession of our latest CD, ‘The Bush League ROCKS – Live at The National‘ recorded at our second show at RVA concert venue The National on April 9, 2011!  Huge THANK YOU‘s to: Rob Richards who recorded this album at The National in addition to mixing it at Junkyard Studios in downtown Richmond, VA; central Virginia’s The 1st Kind who mastered the album; Zack and Kaitlin at Revolve for both your patience and perseverance; and last, but not least by far to Keith M. Ramsey of Metro R Media for the awesome album cover and unparalleled  graphic work!!

Giving thanks this weekend with The Bush League!

The Bush League is very thankful this year to have a new spot for our annual Black Friday shindig that used to be help at our beloved Grandpa Eddie’s Alabama Ribs & BBQ (miss y’all!)!!!!  After fighting the crowds during the day come join us this friday night at O’Bank’s Cafe & Grill in Ashland, VA!  We’ve had some great fun the last few times that we played here and can’t wait to do it all over again!

 

 

 

We then hit the road on Saturday, Nov 26th to head down to High Point, NC!  We received so much love the last time we played at Blue Bourbon Jacks 4 months ago was epic!  We plan on ‘bringing it’ back to the flagged stage once again!  If you were there last time, tell your friends to come on out and…  get some!  But seriously everybody, PLEASE be careful out there this holiday weekend if you are traveling; no drinking and driving, drive defensively & watch for those speed traps!  They are only out there for our safety so let’s all stay safe and we’ll see you next week!

After winning their Blues Challenge on July 30, 2011 in Virginia Beach, VA at The Jewish Mother Hilltop the Natchel’ Blues Network is sponsoring a Blues Jam/ Fundraiser so that we can have some gas money for this looooong trip at the end of January!  It takes place this Sunday November 20, 2011 at J.M. Randalls Classic American Grill in Williamsburg, VA at 2pm!

… 1min before The Bush League steps on stage to open for Robert Randolph & the Family Band!  We got the call to see if we were available on Wednesday, Nov 9th!  2days notice, hadn’t played together in 2weeks and no practice; & we rocked it!
