THE BUSH LEAGUE recently signed a marketing and promotion contract with independent Swedish company MUSIK HEMIFRÅN!  They specialize in what they call gut music – The kind of music that you can feel in your gut, no matter if it’s power pop, soft singer-songwriter, heavy rock, blues, gentle westcoast-pop, country, AOR, jazz, americana, electronica or just plain, simple, good ol’ rock’n’roll…..“.  Well, they are taking our debut studio album, ‘Can Of Gas & A Match‘ and flying it under that banner throughout Scandinavia, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Italy and The UK!

A few Virginia people that we know are represented by them:  Lisa Lim, Terry Garland, Li’l Ronnie and Robbin Thompson!  Their roster is very diverse including Watermelon Slim, Jack Bruce, Indigo Girls, Merle Haggard, Dave Stewart, Levon Helm, Wanda Jackson and so many more!!!

We are so excited by this partnership and are really looking forward to what the future will bring, and we are glad that YOU are here along for the ride!!!

We had an awesome time playing on the track at Southside Speedway in Midlothian, VA for this year’s Fall BRAzaar with our friend Brad Moss sitting in on guitar!  There was an awesome line-up of bands and many great vendors, sponsors and people that braved one the hottest days in October I can remember!

We had an amazing time in Ashland, VA at the first (of many more to come we hope!) craft beer festival!  The Big Payback, a James Brown tribute band put it down in the afternoon and we hit the stage in the early evening.  There were 7 breweries represented; Bold Rock Hard Cider, Center of the Universe Brewery, Hardywood Brewery, Legend Brewery, Midnight Brewery and Starr Hill Brewery!  There were a few gourmet food trucks there also selling awesome food!  All proceeds from the event benefited the Hanover Arts and Activities Center, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote arts, education and community building. The Center operates from a 154-year old facility at 500 South Center Street in Ashland, VA right next to the train tracks and this event was held on its lawn!

THE BUSH LEAGUE HOMECOMING 2012!!!

_

So you all have heard the story; JohnJay and Royce are sitting on JohnJay’s front porch, Royce with newly acquired Black Betty in hand plucking notes and JohnJay singing songs decide to see how this would do on a stage.  JohnJay finds out that there is an Open Mic happening at the top of Shockoe Bottom at Poe’s Pub, hosted by the one and only Jim Daab!  They eventually run into Shane there and the rest is history!

-

It’s been three years since they’ve stepped on this stage, and with the group revving up for the release of their first studio album Can Of Gas & A Match in December, this night is sure to be one not to miss!!!

Updates!!!

In addition to performing throughout Virginia lately, (Capital Ale House again for RCBS’s Brews & Blues, our first Southbound Jamboree in Rustburg, On The Rox in Shockoe Bottom, Babe’s in Carytown, The Canal Club, The Comfort Zone Sports Bar & Grill in South Hill and last, but certainly not least, a private Horseshoe Tournament in Lunenburg!) we have been making moves with the studio album that we recorded in Memphis, TN at Young Avenue Sound back in June!  Ari Morris at Y.A.S. just finished mixing the album and we are moving with the mastering, registering, production, marketing and promotion to get this out by the end of this year!  With us helping Kenya (our manager extraordinaire!) get this done it will be just this short of a miracle to hit our deadlines, but we all like a challenge!  That’s right, it’s just us doing this and we are all getting a very good education in this business that they call show!  We will keep you informed as the ‘to do’ list gets checked off!

We are still playing as much as we can during this time to raise loot to get all of this done!  Check out the dates that we through the rest of 2012 in the SHOW DATES tab above, there are a few more that may be added to that list soon so check back often to see where you can catch us next!  And if you aren’t near any of our upcoming shows we do have two (2) upcoming radio appearances scheduled before the year is out!  This Saturday October 6th will be doing a live in-studio performance (and announcing the name of the new album!) on the River City Limits show on WRIR 97.3LP FM Richmond Independent Radio from 5pm – 7pm EST and on December 10th from 10pm – 12am EST we will be back on the Music On The Couch online radio show along with Terry Evans and John Lee Hooker, Jr. to promote the new album!

Many more surprises are in the works and we will let you know as soon we get it all finalized but know that moves are being made and we will be so very happy when this process is done and we have a finished product to make you so very happy also and then we can move on to the next project on the ‘how in the world are we going to get this done’ list!
