RVA Blues: The Inaugural Bad To The Bone Blues Bash

The ‘Bad To The Bone Blues Bash’ benefiting the American Cancer Society at the Henrico Theater in Highland Springs, VA on Sunday July 31, 2016 was the first event for jazz singer Sharon Rae North‘s new production/ promotion company Whole Note Music, LLC and it featured jazz and blues artists from the Tidewater area as well as the Central Virginia region!  Richmond, VA’s newly crowned ‘Duchess of the Blues’, Lady E opened the show with a band that featured Andrew Alli on harmonica and original UniverSoul Circus guitarist Vic Smiley. Vic stayed on after Lady E’s set and sang a few songs before the traditional jazz and blues sounds of the Lawrence Olds Band graced the stage!   Newport News, VA’s 2016 International Blues Challenge Finalist Bobby Blackhat Walters Band closed the show secretly featuring their newly announced keyboard player; former Vinx accompanist, Lucy Kilpatrick!

Towards the end of the evening Bobby invited Sharon Rae North up on stage, along with harmonica player Andrew Alli to join his band in performing T-Bone Walker’s classic, ‘Stormy Monday’ and killed the house!

The maiden voyage for this new promotion/ production company, Whole Note Music, LLC produced an awesome night for a great cause and we can’t wait til their next event!
