NYC WDC Weekend 2016

Band manager extraordinaire Kenya Watikins’ birthday in her hometown of NYC for a The Bush League gig at Desmond’s Tavern is an awesome thing to see! A lot of her family and friends and the band’s friends along with the baddest bad-assed blues band this side of the Mississippi on the stage to help celebrate helped after almost 9 hours in the car straight from Richmond, VA to the venue with enough time to order one drink (not drink it though) before the band has to hit the stage!  The band before us, Fat City Rockers and the band after us, The Paul Anthony Band were amazing, gracious and friendly!  We all got to hang out in Times Square for a literal hot second before heading back to New Jersey to check in to our hotel!

After a quick nap we headed down The Jersey Turnpike, then over to Philly to catch I-95 (and seeing the city security for the Democratic National Convention) to avoid a crazy backup on the Delaware Bridge to celebrate Sauf Haus Bier Hall & Garten‘s 2nd anniversary in Washington, D. C.’s Dupont Circle along with Papa Bavarian and The Jeffersonians!  It was the hottest day of the year so far on a rooftop bar with struggling AC but every single person up in that hot box was having a ball!!!  Huge thank you’s to everyone that came out and stayed during our set and celebrated with Sauf Haus; this was really awesome for our first time in NWDC!
