2017 NMHCP in Senatobia, MS

Thanks to Tropical Storm Cindy this year’s North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic was moved from the outdoor stage in Waterford, MS to a decent sized covered structure at Davis Park on Old Carter Place.  It was muddy (I can only remember one time when it wasn’t in the past 5 years!) and it was air conditioned!  There were many things that happened and many connections and reunions  but this picture right here sums up my experience:

To understand the smile on my face, this is (l-r) R. L. Burnside’s ‘adopted Son’ Kenny Brown, me, and R. L. Burnside’s son, “The Prince of The Blues” Duwayne Burnside during the closing set of the first night of the festival!

Huge THANK YOU’s to Sox Richardson for all of the photos of the different acts and good times at the 2017 North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic on their Facebook Page

..and even Bigger THANK YOU‘s to Kenny and Sara Brown who organize this event and made sure that everyone was safe and had a good time this year!

Here are some of the non-blurry pictures that we took of the Eric Deaton Trio and Cedric Burnside Project‘s sets on Saturday night:
